Reconnect European "green areas": a proposal to save tourism.
Many member states of the European Union have launched their "unconfinement" plans by region. As the incidence of the virus decreases, mobility between these regions will normalize, following a strategy of "green areas"
The idea is simple: allow the mobility of people between "green areas" of different European countries through a network of regions certified by community institutions.
European green areas represent a unique opportunity for the EU to demonstrate leadership, creating a win-win situation for all countries, with a huge direct positive impact on the lives of millions of European citizens.
We propose to allow the possibility of traveling between green areas, whether or not they are within the same country. Green areas would become part of the certified network of green areas, which would grow as virus containment progresses. Allowing travel between green areas can help save the tourism sector and, most likely, improve the economic viability of several European countries.
